Miranda named Best Pitcher (Food Category) at Regional Agri-Aqua Pitch Day

On May 27, 2025, Engr. Franz Z. Miranda, faculty member of the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, was awarded Best Pitcher in the Food Category during the Regional Agri-Aqua Technology Pitch Day held at the Rafael L. Lazatin Audio-Visual Center, Pampanga State Agricultural University. Competing under the theme “InnoVEst: Harvest Today’s Innovation for Sustainable Tomorrow,” Engr. Miranda impressed the panel of evaluators with his innovative project, “Dried Ginger Pulp”—a value-added product that promotes food sustainability through the utilization of agricultural waste. His pitch stood out for its technical ingenuity, economic potential, and relevance to community development. The Regional Agri-Aqua Technology Pitch Day is a platform designed to showcase innovative technologies and entrepreneurial ideas in the agriculture and aquaculture sectors. It brings together educators, researchers, startups, and industry players to promote science-based solutions that address current and future challenges in food systems, environmental resilience, and rural development.
